Joining a college brings about excitement among the young people who are now curious to enrol in the career training classes of their choice. Not all of the students are however decided on what they want to pursue despite the fact that they have already been admitted. Evaluating oneself using the characteristics of an Arizona Western Historian is a good way of knowing if you fit in the group.

For someone to be successful in whatever field they are involved in, they must portray a high degree of hard work. The study is not a smooth road and so much has to be done for someone to graduate with good grades finally. Sometimes the work might be too much especially in this department where a lot of reading and research are involved. Some students might end up looking for alternative careers.

A good scholar has good research skills. Even though these skills are taught in college, sometimes it takes more than being taught to be good at something. The students in this field have great skills that help them to collect information, analyze, interpret and present it in a detailed and understandable manner that impresses the supervisors. They know that research contributes a lot to the final grades.

Someone who is socially oriented is one who is always concerned about others. They are considerate of how others feel and wish they got a chance to help in the society. Such is a quality most of the people in this field have. This is what drives them to deep into the community to get information concerning the ways of life of the people, and they get to analyze the different situations.

There is a lot of field work that needs to be done is this learning process. The learners are supposed to go to different environments and conduct research on different societies and cultures. For them to get this information, the learner might be required to live with the occupants of different places for some time. Surviving this need someone who is flexible.

The learners in this department are always attentive. Everything they see or hear is important as it could act as a lead to them answering a question concerning a certain culture. When studying they do not ignore any details as each one of them is important. Someone who is naturally alert is hence fit for this career as they will not find themselves ignoring important things.

These people are inquisitive. They will always want to know more about the things that surround them especially if the involve human interaction. They are good at asking questions either in the form of interviews or use of questionnaires. If they do not find answers through these methods, they will go an extra mile of finding them in books or even use forums on the internet to interact with people that can give the answers.

A person with good communication skills is a good listener who gives other people time to express themselves. This is important as it is the best way to get firsthand information. Someone who cuts short his speakers might miss out on some important details that could boost the content of his research. The communication is, however, two way as questions need to be asked.
