How To Make Clothing Labels At Home

By Charles Lee

Textile companies utilize soft plastic stickers on fabricated clothes for multiple reasons. They use these tags to display the properties and washing guidelines of a cloth fabric. People are advised to read the clothing labels once they have purchased a new cloth. You are also able to make these stickers locally after following certain simple steps. These procedures will work especially when you make and sell handmade items.

You will need a stencil displaying your logo, a spray paint, gloves, ribbon, iron box and some scissors. The first step include giving the equipment a custom cut. There are several laser cutting enterprises out there that specialize in custom stencil cuts. You should choose an enterprise that offers user-friendly stencil cuts. Laser cuts are usually offered both in two and three dimensions. In this case, a two-dimensional cut is suitable.

Alternatively, you can give a stencil a custom cut yourself especially when you own a laser cutter. You need to use a graphics software to produce a two-dimensional media. Choosing materials for painting the designed tag is important. To be precise, you should choose an acrylic sheet because it works well with colors.

The next step is time-consuming because it involves the use of spray paints. For safety, you should wear gloves on your hands and face masks to protect delicate parts of the body that can be harmed by paint. Furthermore, painting can take place anywhere as long as there is adequate air supply. The choice of spray paint should be based on your preferences. You should, however, ensure that nozzles of these sprays produce light paint. This measure ensures that paint does not overflow on the stencil.

The procedure entails slotting a clean ribbon with caution on the stencil. This step should be undertaken with care so as to ensure that the logo is copied well to a ribbon. A spray paint with an efficient nozzle is also required in this process. Your hand should move around the stencil at a distance of ten inches.

Another step should be undertaken with care to ensure that paint does not touch the parts of a stencil. You should position it carefully. Once you are done with spraying, you should remove the ribbon slowly by ensuring that its surface does not touch the template. Stencils can be cleaned or replaced whenever they are saturated with paint.

The ribbon should be allowed to dry for some time once you are done with painting. After drying, cut out the ribbon into diverse lengths by using a pair of scissors. Pieces of the ribbon that are obtained from this procedure can be sewn to obtain nice tags. Furthermore, these pieces are sewed on the edges for the tags to appear more stylish.

Choose a simple sewing machine especially because complicated machines are meant for experienced tailors. The final step is to use an iron box to fold the seam to obtain a custom colored tag. Make sure that you maintain a constant temperature when ironing to prevent the tag from burning.
