Finding Tribute Bands For Hire

By Ericka Marsh

When hiring a live band, there are many considerations such as venue and type of occasion to take into account. With so many tribute bands for hire, making the right choice is important to avoid disappointment. Some of the factors that need to be considered in making this decision are budget, venue and experience of the band.

Some of these groups have been together for many years and have become quite famous in their own right. Neil Diamond, the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, Alice Cooper and others have inspired many groups to try and recreate their sounds. Costumes, hairstyles and even gestures and mannerisms are studied closely. For others, it is all about capturing the distinctive sounds of the original band. They use authentic instruments and amplifiers.

When looking online for such a band, it is possible to listen to demo tracks. One can soon tell if they capture the essence of sound and feel of the original group. One must bear in mind that these demos are recorded in studio and the live sound may be a little different. It is also possible to see images and even view videos of live performances, showing exactly what they look like and how they move.

The venue for an event has an influence on the choice of band. A big band in a small, intimate venue can be totally overwhelming. They need a larger space with a stage and a dance floor. However, a band is often able to adapt to suit the venue size. They may have four members that routinely perform at smaller venues and be able to extend by adding members and instruments for larger venues.

Prices vary considerably depending upon the experience of the band, the number of members and amount of equipment used. Some of these groups have been together for years and have played for a wide variety of corporate and private clients. There are those that have many members and they use elaborate costumes, stage sets and lighting.

Backing tracks are used by many groups so as to produce the full, rich sound. This allows them to offer reasonable prices. It also means that they are able to perform in the smaller, more intimate venues.

When booking a band, make sure that enough time is allowed for setting up and doing a sound check in the space where they will perform. They will usually need a private room where they can change into their costumes and and get ready for the performance. The performance lengths vary and can be adapted to suit a particular event. Most groups offer a single set performance of about an hour or two sets of half an hour each with a break in between.

Once a band has been selected, a check can be made to find out whether it is available on the date. A quote will include all the costs such as transport and any extras. Once a booking has been made, a contract is signed by the band and the client. A deposit is usually required upfront to secure the booking.
